I'm a 31 year old wife and mom living in the southeast. I've been married 3 years and I have one son and one daughter (aka the Gavinator and the Goose). Ever since becoming a mom there have been many moments that have caused me to declare "That's it, I'm officially a mom!". I'm not talking about the ordinary moments like the time I birthed my child through my va-jay-jay or nourished a child exclusively for 6 months with my breast milk alone. I'm talking about moments like the first time I went number two on the potty with a 1 year old on my lap or the first time I cleaned up my son's vomit without even gagging. Nevermind the fact I started a blog just to talk about being a mom. I am officially a mom.
Maybe someone should say to these people: think about it, if we allow abortions, we'll have less gays, and if we allow gay marriages, they won't procreate and make gay babies.
OK, tha twould be stooping to their level, but I'm sure they're dumb enough to believe it.
I'm with you on 1 and 2(I'm a little more north in the other carolina) I was roaming around on the computer, got to your blog through Flickr. We both commented on Mikey's page.
Massachusetts just gets better and better each day. I will no longer feel envy when I see pics of you outside in shorts while I'm struggling with snow gear.

Sorry you have to live in a place like that!
Oh honey, come up to Oregon. Neither of these two things would ever fly here. I will personaly help you unpack the boxes.

Those are two reasons I don't belong there also.

My husband was born and raised in SC; he ended up here in Washington state thanks to the US Army, and I have kept him here ever since.
We have been shaking our heads in disgust over the news from SC this past week. SC is a wonderful place to visit, but we will never ever live there.
We are political freaks of nature while we are in the south; we definitely avoid any issue-oriented discussions with his family when we visit.
I can't believe this stuff is still passing. Disappointment and disgust don't even begin to describe it.
How sad that we live in a states that these are still issues. I really do hope to move to Oregon someday where people seem to think more clearly.
come to california!!!!!!! :)
Arg. Virginia is the same.
It seems to me that if I had to live in one of the Carolinas, it would be North Carolina.

These reasons are also why I do NOT belong in Virginia. I want to be North where my views are more in tune with everyone around me.
ps - I got here via flickr...in case you were wondering.
